INTRODUCTION
Thrissur, the name derived from Tiru-shiva-perur is often called the
cultural capital of kerala. The town is built around a hillock top. Its
most prominent feature is the Vadakkumnathan Kshetram or temple which
has shiva as it presiding deity. Adisankaracharya is supposed to have
spent his last days in this temple.
Air-The nearest international airport is at nedumbassery, Ernakulam, 60 km north away.
