09 DAYS/08 NIGHTS COCHIN-ALLEPPEY-CHAVARA-TRIVANDRUM
DAY
01 : Arrival
at Cochin Airport. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to
Hotel. Check in at the hotel. Afternoon city tour of Cochin visiting
Dutch Palace,
St. Francis Church ( India's Oldest European Church) and
The Chinese fishing nets,
Stirring reminders of China's influence along the coast in times gone
by. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY
02 : Morning
back water cruise. Your journey along the narrow canals that traverse
this region will take you through a picture- perfect landscape dotted
with small villages where life continues as it has done for centuries.
In the evening a kathakali
Dance performance will be laid on for our entertainment.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY
03 : Morning
leave for Alleppey. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon free
to explore the village or strolling along the banks of the "Holy
River" The Pampa. You will spend
the night in comfortable village house accommodation where you can enjoy
typical Keralite Cuisine.
DAY 04 : Morning breakfast at the hotel, join the rest of your party for an invigorating yoga session between 8 and 9 am. The day's workshops start at 10am and cover a wide variety of traditional crafts and activities including Kathakali dance, make-up, classical dance, karnatic music, wood carving, kalripayat, percussion and Kaulum. Each workshop lasts between sixty and ninety minutes. Once your session is complete, you are more than welcome to watch other workshops in progress. After lunch you can return to your original workshop or try something different. All meals will be provided.
DAY 05 : Morning transfer to Kumarakom where you will board a houseboat. Spend the day relaxing on board enjoying the ever-changing delights that the landscape has to offer and, if you wish , enjoying a spot of fishing. Traditional Kerala food will be served on board.
DAY 06 : As you will spend the day and night in a typical Kerala house you will have ample opportunity to mingle with the local community and experience what life here is really like.
DAY
07 : Morning transfer to Mararikulam
Beach. On arrival check in at the Resort. Rest of
the day free to relax on beach. Overnight stay at the resort.
DAY 08 : Transfer to Trivandrum airport
to catch flight for onwards destination.
